Diners find false nail in cheesy chips and snail in spinach as food complaints skyrocket in Ireland

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has announced details today of the complaints and queries from last year.

A total of 7,363 queries and complaints were handled by the FSAI's Advice Line in 2022, with 59 per cent of consumer complaints related to unfit food and poor hygiene standards.

The FSAI revealed that there were 4,058 complaints from consumers, with 31 per cent of complaints relating to unfit food and 28 per cent to poor hygiene standards.
