Diner's video of rodent running around McDonald's leaves people shocked

A diner at a McDonald's restaurant had an unforgettable visit at the fast-food chain when they saw what appears to be a rodent running around tables and chairs. The video was posted on Facebook and has now gone viral, racking up over 1,500 shares, over 700 comments and hundreds of reactions to the 'shocking' footage.

The small grey rodent became an accidental star when it was filmed at an Essex McDonald's restaurant. In its 15 seconds of fame, the little creature is seen climbing on top of tables and chairs, to the dismay of the original poster Kelly Mullins.

The rodent appeared to be 'lovin it' in the McDonald's restaurant on Thurrock Park Way in Tilbury where the footage was filmed. As reported by EssexLive, the woman recording the footage of the rodent says in the video: "Oh my God, I'm going to have to tell them [the staff]."

Some people on social media have suggested the animal was merely a field mouse. This has not been validated by a wild animal expert, however.

The viral video was seen in a humorous way by some, whilst others were more fearful of the hygiene implications. Richard James Davis wrote: "Little Stuart is tired of waiting for his Happy Meal!"

Vanessa Brown wrote: "Aww it’s hungry feed it." Aaron Francis wrote: "Aw look at that we[e] thing."

Mickey Lev said: "It's a lil field mouse, they get everywhere." Monica Strydom wrote: "People should stop dumping their food rubbish outside on the floor, attracts mice and all sorts!"

Other diners were left sickened by the rat in McDonalds. Amongst numerous posters who used the green vomiting face emoji was Lauryn Lambert who wrote: "No way I feel sick."

Jennie Lockie who wrote: "Omg I would run out of there screaming." EssexLive approached McDonald's for a comment but they did not respond in time for publication.
