A residential area of Din Daeng district of Bangkok was struck by fire twice on Wednesday, with the second blaze completely destroying a house and injuring two people.
The first fire broke out at 1.58am on August 19 in Soi Ratchadaphisek 7, tearing through a cluster of closely built wooden houses near a dormitory.
Firefighters from Huai Khwang fire station battled to stop the flames spreading from two houses to four, bringing it under control about half an hour later at 2.28am.
No injuries or deaths were reported.
Less than 21 hours later, at 10.12pm of the same day, a second fire broke out at a two-storey part-concrete, part-wood house in Soi Chan Mueang 2, off Pracha Songkhro Road, in the same district.
The blaze completely damaged the house and spread to a neighbouring home as well as a nearby apartment building, damaging about 144 square metres of property in total.
Two women, aged 22 and 36, suffered smoke inhalation in the second incident and were taken to Kluaynamthai Hospital and Phra Mongkut Klao Hospital for treatment. Firefighters and volunteers brought the blaze under control within 20 minutes.
The cause of both fires has yet to be determined. Investigations have been launched.
