Dillian Whyte has repeated his claim that Tyson Fury pushed him to the canvas forcing a stoppage in their heavyweight fight.
The 'Body Snatcher' lost his long-awaited heavyweight title challenge against WBC champion Fury in April, after failing to beat the count following a brutal uppercut. Days after the fight, Whyte claimed Fury pushed him to the canvas which saw him hit his head and prevent him from returning to his feet in adequate time.
Fury quickly dismissed the claim and suggested his rival was making excuses after failing to achieve any kind of foothold in the contest. However the conquered challenger remains adamant he was unfairly stopped, and has claimed he even twisted two ligaments in his foot after the fall.
“I think the fight obviously got stopped too early,” Whyte said in speaking with Matchroom Boxing. “It’s boxing, you get hurt. I’ve been down in fights before and obviously you get back up and obviously I got hit with a good shot. He pushed me over. When he pushed me over I ended up f*****g twisting two ligaments in my foot.
"The Boxing Board didn’t follow the rules as well because if you go down, after the bell they’re not allowed to stop the fight. They’re allowed to send you to your corner, send the doctor to intervene if you beat a ten-count. They didn’t do that they just stopped the fight, which is a big, massive breach.”
Fury dominated the first six rounds at Wembley, with Whyte unable to get close to the 'Gypsy King' who waited patiently for his moment to pounce. The champion even claimed he spoke to his rival prior to the telling blow, with Whyte alleged to have said he was "hurt" by the power punches.

Both men have moved on from the fight, with Fury now set to face former rival Derek Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 3, while Whyte will take on Jermaine Franklin at Wembley Arena this weekend. However when addressing the claims, Fury suggested he felt let down by his rival, who he had shown no animosity to in the build-up.
"It's a little bit of a letdown, to be fair," Fury told the Queensberry Promotions YouTube channel. "He took it like a man on the night, didn't make any excuses like the old Bronze Bomber [Wilder]. "And then he's come out with a load of bulls*** after the fight that he was pushed over and his head hit the canvas.
"So I watched it, he got chinned and he was going to fall on top of me so I shoved him off. I'm not sure which video he's got but the ones I've seen myself it was a one-sided beatdown and a clean knockout. He landed about three punches on me in the whole fight."
