NEW DELHI: With digital payments rising in India, the total number of debit and credit cards in circulation breached the 1 billion mark with 1006.7 million cards recorded as of December 2021, said Worldline India in its Annual Digital Payments Report.
Out of the total cards in circulation, credit cards represented just 7% of the market share while debit cards accounted for 93%. In the Credit card market, private sector banks represent 67% of cards issued while Public sector banks account for 24%.
