Diddy's children denounce 'hurtful and false' conspiracy theories over mother's death

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ children have spoken out for the first time since their father was arrested on sex trafficking charges.

However, instead of mentioning the accusations against the hip-hop mogul, they instead addressed conspiracy theories that have circulated about their late mother Kim Porter.

The accused rapper had three children - Christian, 26, Jessie, and D'Lila, both 17 - with model Porter, and he also adopted her eldest son Quincy, 33.

Ms Porter died in 2018 at the age of 47 from lobar pneumonia, but in recent weeks a conspiracy theory has circulated online that she secretly wrote a memoir giving an alternative narrative on their relationship.

Her children took to Instagram to insist the supposed memoir does not exist, and denounce “hurtful and false rumours” about her death.

“We feel the need to speak out,” they wrote.

“Claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue. She did not, and anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves.

“Additionally, please understand that any so-called ‘friend’ speaking on behalf of our mom or her family is not a friend. Nor do they have her best interests at heart.

“Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother. She was our world, and nothing has been the same since she passed, while it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon.”

They added: “The cause of her death has long been established. There was no foul play. Grief is a lifelong process, and we ask that everyone respect our request for peace as we continue to cope with her loss every day.

“We are deeply saddened that the world has made a spectacle of what has been the most tragic event of our lives.

“Our mother should be remembered for the beautiful, strong, kind, and loving woman she was. Her memory should not be tainted by horrific conspiracy theories.

“We ask that everyone please respect our mother, Kim Porter, and hold her legacy in high regard so that she may rest in peace. It’s what she deserves.”

They signed off the post: “We love you and miss you mommy. Quincy, Christian, Jessie & D’Lila.”

The post did not make reference to Diddy’s arrest and detention after he was indicted on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.

The supposed memoir, titled Kim’s Lost Words, claimed Diddy had assaulted his late partner and taped himself having sex with a teenage popstar.

Conspiracy theories have also circulated online about the cause of Ms Porter’s death.

Diddy is currently being detained in New York while he awaits a trial.

Christian and Quincy were in court on Tuesday with another of his children, Justin, 30, to support their father.

According to the charges, he faces allegations dating back to 2008 of abusing, threatening and coercing women, “to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct”.

It is said associates of the rapper would play female victims with drugs and threat those who refused to follow his orders.

Diddy denies the charges and has been denied bail, despite offering a $50 million bond to secure his release.
