Pop icon Taylor Swift created quite a buzz when she showed up to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday afternoon to check out the Kansas Chiefs taking on the visiting Chicago Bears. Rumors have been swirling for a short time that Swift and KC’s star tight end, Travis Kelce, have been in the early stages of a courtship.
Swift, who joined Travis’s mother, Donna, in the family box for the game, donned a white tee and a simple red jacket emblazoned with Chiefs on the back.

But as a noted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, a team that lost to Kansas City mere months ago in the Super Bowl, is Swift betraying her team? We asked our staff to discuss.
Yes, how could you?
Mary Clarke (also an Eagles fan): The Eagles devastating loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl 57 was approximately eight months ago. Any self-respecting Philadelphia sports fan wouldn’t be caught dead wearing Chiefs gear with the wounds still so fresh. Yes, she might be dating Travis Kelce, but it’s still early days, so wear some nondescript red for the game and hang out with the best mom in all of sports while keeping your Philly sports pride intact.
Still, all will be forgiven if she is actually infiltrating the Chiefs from the inside to destroy their plans for a Super Bowl repeat.
Prince Grimes: For dating Travis Kelce, no. But for wearing Chiefs gear to her very first game to watch him play, absolutely. No Eagles fan is truly over that loss, even if they aren’t natural rivals with the Chiefs. But if there’s a larger, more cynical plan at play, I’m all for it. Gotta sell the loyalty.
Christian D’Andrea: Please take me off your mailing list, I do not wish to subscribe.
No, she's totally fine.
Caroline Darney: Nah, this is perfectly acceptable given that you are not repping the gear of a direct rival. If Taylor Swift was dating a New York Giant and decked out in blue and red instead of Eagles green, we’d be having a different discussion, but this feels like a super reasonable compromise for early in a potential relationship. A jersey would be too strong a move — gives wearing his letter jacket vibes — so a cute outfit with a simple jacket is solid.
Blake Schuster: Absolutely not. She’s following proper visiting fan decorum. Fit in, try to embrace the home team experience and don’t make a scene (ok, well she failed there). If Kansas City we’re playing the Eagles, then she’d be a traitor.
Robert Zeglinski: [Busy watching the Bears inch toward Caleb Williams] You don’t wear Eagles gear or have non-Chiefs clothes on when you’re literally sitting with Mama Kelce at the Chiefs game. Sorry, moms come before fandom and Super Bowl losses. Grow up!
