John MacArthur, the 85-year-old pastor of Grace Community Church in California, has confirmed he is alive following a wave of false reports that claimed he died earlier in 2025. The long-serving preacher later said he continues to recover after undergoing medical treatment.
The rumours began shortly after MacArthur was hospitalised in January. Although his condition was reported to be serious, there was no official confirmation of death and no funeral or obituary ever followed.
