Diary of a CEO star Steven Bartlett says Molly-Mae Hague wasn't paid for podcast

Dragon's Den star Steven Bartlett revealed that Molly-Mae Hague and Matt Hancock didn't get paid for their interviews.

The 29-year-old who hosts Diary of a CEO said his guests often approach him to feature on his show and that he has "never" paid anyone to appear.

Steven who is Dragons' Den's youngest investor, said in an Instagram Q&A: "I have never and I would never pay a guest to come on. Absolutely never.

"It used to be challenge getting high calibre guests, but when the podcast became more popular that changed.

"Now, the majority of our guests contact us via their PR teams and request to come on and the remaining 20% are people I've DM'd because I'm interested in them."

Steven's podcast has hit the headlines recently with guests such as Molly-Mae Hague making comments about poverty and work ethic.

The former Love Islander came under huge criticism for her: "we all have the same 24 hours in a day" and that "if people want something enough, they can achieve it" comments.

She explained on the podcast: "I understand we all have different backgrounds and we're all raised in different ways and we do have different financial situations, but I think if you want something enough you can achieve it.

"It just depends on what lengths you want to go to get where you want to be in the future. And I'll go to any length."

Matt Hancock, the former Health Secretary insisted that his smooch with his top aide Gina Coladangelo did "not break lockdown laws".

After resigning from the cabinet last year, he told the Diary Of A CEO podcast: "I resigned because I broke the social distancing guidelines. By then they weren't actually the law, they were the guidelines.

"But that's not the point. The point is they were the guidelines that I'd been proposing. And that happened because I fell in love with somebody."

Steven confessed to being "hopeless" at school and he even dropped out of Manchester Metropolitan University after just two weeks.

He once stole food from corner shops but was a millionaire by 23 after setting up his own business in his bedroom.

Despite that, he is now estimated £50million after his social media marketing company Social Chain was listed for $200million on the Dusseldorf stock exchange.
