Diane Keaton brands herself 'disgusting' on The View after embarrassing clip resurfaces

Diane Keaton wasn't a fan of a throwback clip as she made an appearance on The View.

The veteran actress, 77, joined the panellists on Friday for a chat about her latest movie, Book Club: The Next Chapter.

However, breaking away from the promo chat, the panellists played a clip of the Hollywood icon dancing flamboyantly to Miley Cyrus ' hit song Flowers.

The actress is seen jumping off a small wall into long grass and shaking her grove. She appears to be loving life as she throws the shapes and shakes her legs.

She looked stunning in all-black outfit with grey bowler hat and sunglasses as she embraced the moment.

The Father of the Bride star captioned the upload: "@mileycyrus YOUR INCREDIBLE SONG GAVE ME A REASON TO DANCE IN MY OWN BACKYARD!," and a number of big hitters in showbiz shared the love in the comments section, including Alicia Keys.

But as the clip from four months ago made it to national television on Friday, she was far from impressed and immediately quipped: "That's me. Disgusting!

"That’s so stupid I can’t stand it. Look at that, that’s a crazy person."

Playing up to the moment, Diane was then seen lifting up her champagne flute in the studio and joking: "I'm gonna drink up to that one."

Alyssa Farah Griffin clearly loved the vibe Diane was giving off and questioned her on having "fun at any age".

Diane again left a sarcastic comment to the host, joking: "I had no fun at any age."

And discussing her awkwardness at being in front of a live studio audience, she described her appearance on the show as "scary".

"I mean there’s a lot of people I’m looking at right now," she confessed. "Look at them. They’re amazing. They’re your people. Look, oh my god. Why am I here?"

The Oscar winner was well received by fans and one fan admitted her appearance made her excited to watch the new flick.

The user wrote on Twitter : "OMG sooooo funny. I can’t wait to see this film with four of my most favorite actresses. We all need a moment of laughter to counter the “crazy” that seems to happening nationwide; this movie will do just that."
