After it was reported that the New York Jets and Dalvin Cook mutually agreed to part ways on Tuesday, former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant took to social media to make a plea.
“Cowboys gotta grab Dalvin Cook!” Bryant wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday. “It makes too much sense!”
The news that the two sides split was first reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, who added that Cook would be looking to play for a team that’s going to contend for a Super Bowl. On Wednesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed that Cook will be placed on waivers and reported that the four-time Pro Bowler could be claimed at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday, but if he isn’t, then he can sign with another team afterward

As far as contenders go, Dallas wouldn’t be a bad pick. The Cowboys can seal an NFC East title on Sunday with a win on Sunday over the Washington Commanders, but Cook will likely have several suitors if he hits the open market despite the disappointing season in New York. Going into Week 18, he has 67 carries for 214 yards on the ground and has yet to score a touchdown this year.
