A devoted father has completed a gruelling half marathon while carrying his two-year-old daughter on his back. Chris Greenbank is a single dad from Stockport who took the unusual decision of taking his daughter with him on the 13.1-mile run.
Mr Greenbank, 36, a stonemason, placed his daughter in a hiking carrier which he then loaded onto his back. He described the experience as wonderfully bonding and even raised money for Project 23, a mental health initiative based in Manchester.
As reported by Manchester Evening News, it took Mr Greenbank just under three hours to complete the Manchester Half Marathon. The dad says his little girl rested her hand on his shoulder and kept it there for the whole duration of the run, which took place in Trafford.
