An East Devon mortgage broker has moved to a new head office following two years of growth. Exe Mortgages has relocated to premises in Escot Park from Ottery St Mary.
The company, which was founded in 2012 by David Grimshaw, said sales in 2020-2021 were up 37% and this year the business is "on target" for an increase of 17% - prompting the move.
The business has five full-time advisors, an office manager and two part-time administrators. Exe Mortgages' advisors work flexibly from the Escot office and bases in North Devon, mid-Devon and Cornwall.
The firm said a new suite of offices in a barn conversion had become available at Escot Park, including The Old Milking Parlour - a 125 sq m open-plan layout with two mezzanines and allocated parking for staff and visitors. The barn conversion was designed by chartered building surveyor Mark Ledgard, from Savills, and let by property consultant Noon Roberts.
Mr Grimshaw said: “It’s perfect for the business with space for further growth. The premises are futureproofed for energy with an air source heat pump and underfloor heating, double glazing, LED lighting and an EPC ‘A’ rating. The charm of the original building has been retained, including the brickwork and high-arched windows."
He added: “The new head office is within easy reach of the A30 and M5, making it an extremely practical location for the whole team as well as for client meetings."
