Devon drinks brand secures Woolworths Australia deal

A Devon drinks brand has secured a listing deal which will see one of Australia’s largest retailers stock its range of non-alcoholic spirits.

Torquay-based Sea Arch Drinks said its products would hit the shelves in 40 Woolworths Metro stores in the country, increasing to more than 80 in the coming months.

The convenience chain is owned by the Woolworths Group, which has around 37% of the grocery market share in Australia.

Sea Arch Drinks, founded by Geoff and Sarah Yates while the entrepreneurs were running a wine bar by the coast, said the deal was another “marker of success” as it continues to gain traction in international markets.

Last year, the business secured major investment from Dubai-based British businessman Patrick Doyle, the chief executive at International Diplomatic Supplies - a firm that specialises in supplying duty-free products to 300 embassies and consulates in 45 countries.

Ms Yates said: “This is such a significant milestone for us as a growing business and is yet again testament to the appetite for no and low alcohol products globally.

“We feel that there is a strong alignment between the Sea Arch values and those of Metro customers who commonly look for healthier options in store. We look forward to sharing a flavour of the Devon coast down under.”

Sea Arch Drinks also has listings with UK retail giants Ocado, Amazon Prime and Harvey Nichols, as well as several high-end bars and restaurants.

Its Sea Arch Coastal Juniper blend spirit, which tastes like gin but contains no alcohol according to its creators, is made using traditional distillation techniques and a blend of 11 botanicals.
