Diplomatic Ally McCoist claimed he missed Celtic winning the title before offering his congratulations to a punter on the wind–up.
The Rangers legend was primed and ready for David the Hoops fanatic who was up bright and breezy to contact the Ibrox side's record goalscorer in the wake of Ange Postecoglou's side securing a second consecutive league triumph. McCoist revealed on his breakfast show with Laura Woods his weekend consisted of taking in the Coronation and watching copious amounts of the beautiful game.
But Celtic's signature day in Gorgie wasn't on his agenda. The caller admitted his betting luck wasn't as fruitful as Everton's pasting of high–flying Brighton cost him. And that was the jump–off for the devilish Rangers hero who was keen to offer a response amid the gloating. Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "I know but I'm so pleased his coupon got burst."
But McCoist was only at the wind–up and graciously offered his best. He added: "I am only joking, David, well done."
