Two parents from Kildare are raising funds for Temple Street Children’s Hospital after losing their seven-month-old baby to cancer last week.
Cora was a “beautiful bubbly baby” who provided her mum and dad, Erin and Conor, with “seven months of love, laughter and immense joy”.
Cora was born on December, 6, 2021, St Nicholas Day, the patron saint of children and she passed on July, 31, 2022, the last day of summer.

Her parents, who are from Ballinafagh, Co Kildare, told Dublin Live: “She was such a cheeky, curious baby, always looking around her and wanting to be brought into the next room to see new people and a new environment. So easy going, she made parenting so easy for her young parents who weren’t too sure what they were doing but made the best stab possible.
“We had so much fun with Cora and she went everywhere with us, it was a rare moment she wasn’t by our side. Weekly walks in our local Donadea Forest, she visited the Burren and the Ailwee Caves, boat cruising along the Cliffs of Moher and even hiked to the top of Djouce Mountain. We could bring her to cafes and restaurants, anywhere and everywhere and she would never cry.
"She was always so content. She was so loved by everyone and she knew it - always giving everyone one of her precious smiles."
Cora's parents say there was no sign of anything wrong in the weeks leading up to her death.
“A natural eater she took to breastfeeding right away and in her later months she loved her solid foods too,” her parents added. “Bath time was one of her favourites as she splashed around causing havoc and being pampered in coconut oil.
“Nothing made us happier than watching her grow and learn, there was always so much excitement when she started gurgling, babbling, cooing, her first laugh, sitting up and rolling over.
“Up until her symptoms started showing in her last week, you would never have known there was a thing wrong with her, and even then she would still smile for the wonderful nurses and doctors of Temple Street Hospital, who gave her the best care and loved her like their own.
“Cora touched so many lives, she loved everyone and everyone loved her, she was everybody’s friend. Taken too soon, straight to Heaven, God knew you were too good for this world.
“Thank you for everything you taught us darling. We will always remember you. Sleep easy little one, somewhere over the rainbow.”
