A family who missed their flight because of long queues at Manchester Airport were told they still could not get on when their plane returned to the runway because of an emergency
Michelle Donohue, 32, had planned a trip to Rome for her husband Robert and son, 12, with their flight leaving at 7.15am.
Airport chiefs admitted this week that recent disruption caused by staff shortages may last for weeks, so the family arrived four hours early but were still met by long queues, Lancashire Live reports.
