A devastated family of five has been left with nothing after watching their home in Edinburgh burn to the ground.
Samantha Johnson and her four children watched on in horror on Sunday night, March 27, as a blaze tore their home on Woodburn Avenue in Dalkeith apart.
The inferno was pictured ripping through the first floor of the family home while images of the aftermath show the windows completely caved in.
The West Lothian community has since banded together to support Samantha and her children, launching an online fundraiser to help the five find their feet again.
Pal Kelly Dowdeswell, who set up the fundraising page online, said: "I’m setting this go fund me up to help raise funds for a local mum and her five young kids who have sadly just had to watch their house burn to nothing.
"I imagine this family has lost everything."
Some residents offered clothes for Samantha and her kids while others offered cash to help get the family back on their feet, Edinburgh Live reports.
The family are desperately in need of essentials, including clothing, shoes, toys, baby supplies and home essentials.
Locals offered their best wishes to the family as well as expressing relief no one was hurt before donating clothes, toys and household items to the collection.
A G oFundMe page set up by Kelly had also raised £900 towards its target of £1,000 at the time of writing.
Kelly added: "Let’s help get this family back on their feet with the help of the community, sam and her kids will appreciate and be grateful for every little help."
