A Revenue detector dog sniffed out a huge haul of cigarettes at Dublin Port last week.
Officers discovered a whopping 540,000 cigarettes that have an estimated retail value of approximately €426,500, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of almost €334,000.
The smuggled cigarettes, branded ‘Sobraine’ and ‘Dunhill’, were discovered on Friday concealed in metal boxes in a consignment which arrived from Cologne, Germany.

The haul was discovered by Revenue officers as a result of routine operations and with the assistance of detector dog Milo.
A Revenue spokeswoman said: "Investigations are ongoing. This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the shadow economy and the supply of illegal tobacco products.
"If businesses or members of the public have any information regarding smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on the free phone number 1800 295 295."
