A P&O Ferries vessel detained for six weeks was found to have a record number of deficiencies, according to new analysis.

Dirty working conditions, rescue boats not functioning and problems with fire safety systems were among 47 failures discovered on Pride of Kent by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).
