Destiny Udogie injury: Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou issues update ahead of Chelsea game

Tottenham defender Destiny Udogie remains a doubt for Monday's visit of Chelsea in a much-anticipated London derby.

The left-back, who has been one of the Premier League's best performers so far this season, was withdrawn before the hour mark last week against Fulham and absent from the squad entirely at Crystal Palace.

Spurs will be keen to have Udogie fit for the visit of Chelsea, with the matter made more urgent as deputy left-back Ben Davies is not expected to be fit for the game after picking up a knock.

"We will see how he progresses," manager Ange Postecoglou told the club's media channels. "He still has a few days before Monday's game, he's progressing good. We will assess it closer [to the time].

"Everyone else is OK, though Ben Davies also has a bit of a knock and hasn't trained with the team yet so he is unlikely for Monday. Still, though, a couple days to go."

Monday's derby is one of the more fiercely contested in the Premier League and has been further stoked by Mauricio Pochettino's appointment at Chelsea.

The game will mark Pochettino's first visit to Spurs as an opposing manager since his sacking at Spurs almost five years ago.
