Fashion designers Suneet Varma and Ravi Bajaj recently celebrated their 35 years in fashion and to honour the occasion, the duo joined forces for a special fashion show. Having studied in the same school and coincidentally going to the same college in London, their friendship has come a long way.
Both Ravi and Suneet have been following the same business module and the duo has seen each other through thick and thin. So it was only about time their friendship saw a new high with a fantabulous fashion show organised at DLF Emporio.
Suneet's show had elaborate lehengas and saris punctuated with heavy embroidery work. The designer also included some of his old designs in the collection like his iconic metal bustier. His collection was titled Encore.
The line of lehengas and saris that Suneet showcased were beguiling and perfect for the wedding festivities. There were also some experimental lehenga looks especially the scalloped ones.
The blouses in his collection were to look out for. The designer used a lots of mirror, dabka and aari work in his collection. And Suneet's affair with sequins and bling was evident in this collection as well.
Designer Ravi Bajaj, who is a pioneer of men's fashion in India and his classic suits are unarguably the best kickstarted the show with models sauntering down the ramp in velvet suits in various shades. His collection also featured bandhgalas and achkans.
His prophetic sense of design ensures that he breaks every dress code while creating a style which begins as his very own and inspires a sartorial revolution. After starting his label in 1987, he also worked as a fashion consultant to some of the largest corporates of India between 1988 and 1994.
The designer is also had models in cocktail saris with rule-bending drapes which looked alluring.
