So far, Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson hasn’t had any restrictions to start training camp. On Friday, he threw in 11-on-11 drills for the first time this year, hitting another benchmark in his rehab. He also threw for the third consecutive day on Saturday.
Before Saturday’s camp practice, head coach Kevin Stefanski said that Watson would take yet another step forward on Monday when he will participate in the team’s first padded practice of the year. Of course, he doesn’t seem to have many restrictions, and the team will make sure not to push it, but I doubt the shoulder will be an issue this year.
Quarterback is the most important position in football, and the Browns need to be able to count on theirs to take it to another level in 2024. Taking reps in a padded practice will be a big step toward the regular season, and fans will be eager to see how he looks on Monday.
