For many young footballers and their families, the Foyle Cup is a highlight of their year.
The Derry-based tournament has grown from strength to strength since its creation 30 years ago and continues to get bigger every year.
This year, it seems, is no exception, with team registrations already exceeding the level reached last year.

On a Facebook post, organisers said: "Just to say that our highest number of teams entered before 2022 in ONeill's Foyle Cup was 420. In 2022 we had 456 teams entered.
"As we stand at the minute we have passed the 500 team entry level- only so many teams we can accept so if not entered yet- please get in touch immediately!"
Philip Devlin, Spokesperson for the O’Neill's Foyle Cup, said: “Everyone involved in the Foyle Cup team is absolutely delighted with the popularity of the tournament, with the number of teams taking part rising with every passing year.
“We are honoured to be hosting over 500 teams from near and far this July, breaking last year’s record of 456 entrants, with at least ten American teams making the journey to the North West.
“However, we will shortly be reaching capacity, and with further interest anticipated for the biggest Foyle Cup to date, we would encourage teams to contact us as soon as possible at oneillsfoylecup@gmail.com to avoid disappointment.”
Foyle Cup 2023 runs from July 17 - July 22.
