From hip new hotels to self-catering castles, cosy guesthouses to glamping escapes, the Irish Independent’s Fab 50 is the annual list of Ireland’s best places to stay.

Speaking on the accolade, the Ebrington Hotel took to social media to express their joy.

They said: "We Made it! We are delighted to have been selected for Irish Independents Fab 50 list of Ireland's 50 Best Places to Stay in 2023.

"We can not wait to get open and share this beauty with all of you in June this year.

"Thank you to @poloconghaile and @nicola_brady for visiting & including us in this years Top 50 list, we are beyond proud."

The Ebrington Hotel is a 93 bedroom hotel complete with spa and state of the art conference centre, due to open on June 30, 2023.

The hotel describes itself as a "luxury city centre sanctuary... where a warm welcome will await. Enjoy a privileged and unique location, overlooking the River Foyle and entire historic city with shopping, museums, entertainment and many attractions on our doorstep."

As work on the site continues, Hotel Developer Cecil Doherty said: “Our objective is to create and develop a four-star hotel to cater for the ever-increasing popularity of our City as a must-visit, exciting tourist destination."

“The Hotel is set to open in Summer 2023. We are excited for its future specifically and the Ebrington site overall with our creation of 120 jobs locally along with the unique opportunity to repurpose and revitalise iconic historically significant buildings. Ebrington’s future is very bright.

“We look forward to showcasing our vision to the public in 2023.”
