Plans have been lodged to transform the site of a former tyre factory near Edinburgh Airport into a huge new business park.
Having purchased the derelict land months ago, GSS Developments have now brought plans forward which would see the former Continental tyre factory near Old Liston Road, Newbridge, given a new lease of life.
Before closing down in 1999, over 1,000 staff members were employed to work at the factory but no use was found following its demolition. GSS are now seeking the opinion of locals in the area as they hope to move forward with plans to transform the site.

The proposals include "light industrial use including logistics, trade counter and another complementary development." An EV charging hub plus improved site access and infrastructure have also been explored.
Commenting on the Newbridge site, Paul Stevenson, Director of GSS, said: "GSS is delighted to have purchased the former Continental Tyre factory at Newbridge. There have been a series of proposals for the area over the years.
"At present, we consider that the optimum re-use would be for light industrial use which would potentially include logistics, trade counter and other complementary development. We are advancing our discussions with the council and recently met with the community council.
"We look forward to hearing the views of local residents and neighbours at our consultation events in the new year at the Newbridge Bowling Club. GSS has appointed a contractor to start to clean-up our site and deal with the items dumped there."
