A Depop shopper has been left horrified after their parcel arrived alongside a ball of hair.
The customer, who had ordered a necklace from the second-hand fashion app, was given the unwelcome surprise when they opened the package - and later dubbed the whole situation as a 'weird one'.
At first there was nothing to suggest that this was anything unusual about the item, which had been sent in an envelope and wrapped in tissue.
But upon unravelling the item, the unnamed customer came across what appeared to be a bunch of chopped off hair.
They then broke the news to the seller after they reached out to see if the package arrived safely.
"Hi have you received the necklace?," they said.
To which the buyer replied: "Hiya yeah thanks sm [so much] for sending it quickly.
"Bit of a weird one but theres hair cuttings in the bottom of the envelope lol."
It is not known whether the seller responded to their message, which has since gone viral online.
But this has not stopped fellow Depop users expressing their amusement at the unexpected extra, with many inventing imagined responses of their own to explain how the hair ended up inside.
One joked that it was another impact of the ongoing cost of living crisis, writing: "Obviously cozzie livs made packing peanuts not an option."
Another user ended up at the same punchline, and said: "Sorry love didn't have packing peanuts so had to make do,"
Someone else suggested it was another example of nostalgia for turn-of-the-millennium items on the platform, and commented : "It's actually my baby hair from 2005 it's rare y2k." [sic
"Finders keepers," joked another person.
"Sorry love, ran out of envelopes and grabbed a spare one from my baby book," penned another.
Others commented simply to express their disgust at the find, as one said: That's so gross"
It comes not long after another Depop shopper was left baffled when their pre-loved order came packaged in a Covid-19 testing box.
They dubbed the blunder "dangerous", alluding to the fact that Covid tests are usually taken when someone has symptoms.
After receiving their order, the raging customer reached out to the seller to express their concerns.
They said: "Why did you send it in a Covid box that's very dangerous."
However, the seller didn't see the issue and mocked the customer.
They replied: "Sorry I forgot cardboard can catch Covid."
