Derek Chisora won't be getting a fight with Deontay Wilder on the back of his victory over Kubrat Pulev, according to the American's manager.
Shelly Finkel, who takes care of Wilder's career along with Jay Deas, has laid out a path to get Wilder back to the top of the heavyweight division, with a bout against either Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk. It is expected to get going in October, with Frank Warren claiming that he's more likely to face Robert Helenius.
The former world heavyweight champion was undefeated before his trilogy with Tyson Fury, in which he drew their first meeting and lost the second two by knockout. But the Brit insists that Wilder is the second best heavyweight in the world, above either of Joshua or Usyk who hold the rest of the belts.
And Finkel reckons that Chisora, who had lost three in a row before a tight decision win in his hometown against Pulev, is not an option for the comeback. "Derek Chisora?" He scoffed in an interview with Planet Sport. "He just edged a split-decision over Kubrat Pulev, no way."
Chisora had pushed for the fight after his win over Pulev, saying that he would like to take on the 'Bronze Bomber'. He has long indicated that he wants to compete in America, having mostly kept his career in the UK and Europe thus far.
"I last won a fight three years ago," Chisora told fans in his post-fight interview at The O2 arena in London after beating Pulev. "I'm happy today but at the same time I'm sad. I don't have many left in me but what I do have I will give my all to you guys.
"I don't have many left, so my next couple of fights - I'm on my way out. I don't want no easy fights, I want the hard fights. I told Eddie Hearn the other day, if he can get me the Bronze Bomber I'll be happy. I want to fight everybody in my era. Win or lose, I just want to fight."

However, Finkel insists that Wilder is looking more towards the higher end of the division, and is keen to get back to world titles. Even after losing twice in devastating fashion, there is still a belief that Wilder is one of the top heavyweights in the division, and would give Joshua or Usyk problems.
Asked for Wilder's next move, Finkel said: "Maybe the winner of Usyk and Joshua. I don't know what Fury is doing? Maybe if Joshua wins it's a huge fight in the UK - there's so many intangibles so we're looking to see what happens in that fight.
"I don't care what Fury says, we're waiting to see what he really wants to do because if he wants to fight the winner then he's going to get it. But after that, where are the top guys? There's only four real top guys in the heavyweights right now - Usyk, Joshua, Fury and Deontay [Wilder]."
