Denzel Dumfries addresses Chelsea rumours
Dumfries has impressed for club and country so far this season, with his latest performance at the World Cup seeing him notch two assists and a goal to help the Netherlands progress into the quarter-finals. Dumfries assisted Memphis Depay's opener and Daley Blind's strike in the first half, before popping up at the back post in the second half to add a third in the 81st minute after Haji Wright grabbed a goal for the USA.
Speaking after his Man of the Match performance, Dumfries said: “Of course it’s a big compliment to be linked with Chelsea, but playing for Inter it’s big compliment too. Chelsea move in January? I’m focused on nothing else but national team and Inter.”

Matthijs de Ligt breaks silence on Chelsea summer transfer
Matthijs de Ligt has denied that he came close to signing for Chelsea in the summer, before joining Bayern Munich, as per the Evening Standard.
Juventus were approached by the Blues but the Dutch defender ended up leaving for Germany in a £68million deal, with De Ligt affirming that he never held talks with Chelsea despite their enquiry.
“Yes, but that wasn’t to do with me,” De Ligt said. “I had my sights on Bayern.
“It wasn’t close with me but maybe [it was between] the clubs. Honestly, I didn’t speak to them this summer. There were a lot of rumours that didn’t come from me.”
He continued: “[Bayern] is amazing. I am having a nice time there. It feels like home after many months. I think the way I played with Bayern gave me the opportunity to play the first game [of the World Cup] so I feel made a good decision and I am really happy there.”
Weston McKennie tipped to sign for Everton ahead of Chelsea
Everton could bring in Weston McKennie in the January transfer window, a move the player would be “much better suited” to than a switch to Chelsea, according to journalist Simon Phillips.
It is claimed by CalcioMercatoWeb that Juventus have Amadou Onana in their sights for a January move, and the Italian club are willing to offer McKennie “on a plate” to secure the signing, rather than pay the £34m that Everton are demanding.
The report states that the American has always been “appreciated” by English clubs, and so Juventus believe that they will be able to tempt the Toffees into parting with their youngster by offering them the more experienced player.
Lampard has been interested in bringing the central-midfielder to the club in the past, with CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs outlining Everton as one of several Premier League clubs to conduct scouting missions ahead of a potential deal, which he says would amount to £20m, if Onana was not included.
