Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has bizarrely claimed that he spent four of the eight hours in the aeroplane from Denver to London working out down the aisles whilst his teammates were asleep.
The Broncos travel to the British capital ahead of this weekend's final NFL London game of the season when they'll face the Jacksonville Jaguars in a must win game if they are to keep up with the pack in the race for a play-offs in a stacked AFC.
The Broncos have a 2-4 record and have been one of the worst offenses in the NFL, with Wilson struggling to recapture his form he showed with the Seattle Seahawks for the last nine seasons.
Wilson missed last weekend's loss to the New York Jets, after struggling with a hamstring tear which could even keep him out of this weekend's game against the Jaguars.
But Wilson is fighting to be fit for the game, and admitted that he even worked out on the aeroplane journey in order to put himself in the best position to play.
Wilson told reporters in London that he was doing high knees down the aisle whilst the rest of his teammates were asleep.
It's the latest bizarre Wilson claim, who has started his career with the Broncos with a number of extremely poor performances after the team traded away their future in order to acquire him from the Seahawks. The Broncos, who have had a talented roster for the last few seasons, have suffered from subpar play at the quarterback position since Peyton Manning left in 2015.
After a failed attempt at trading for Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers, they would eventually offer two-first round picks, two-second round picks, a fifth and three players (Drew Lock, Noah Fant and Shelby Harris), which the Seahawks accepted.
This looks to be one of the most lopsided trades in recent NFL history, with the draft pick going to the Seahawks currently slated to be in the top 10, meanwhile, Wilson's former back-up in Seattle, Geno Smith, has performed much better than Wilson has so far this season.
Wilson had stated just last week that he recovers from injuries quicker than most people, stating that he has 'wolverine blood'.
Many have raised questions over his teammates dislike of Wilson, with Jerry Jeudy, Melvin Gordon and KJ Hamler all being seen to vent their frustration towards Wilson throughout the season.
