Denise Welch exposes son Matty Healy's 'disastrous' first job at Caffe Nero before music stardom

Denise Welch has shared the fact that music megastar son Matty Healy once worked for Caffe Nero, with The 1975 star's stint of employment at the well known coffee chain not exactly going to plan, with him getting the sack after a week but still pretending to work there.

Matty is now one of the most recognisable faces in music as the frontman of a group who have played to huge crowds right across the world. But, before he was having platinum selling albums and sell out tours, Matty, Denise's son with ex husband Tim Healy, spent some time as a barrista at Caffe Nerio.

The unexpected first job became a top of conversation when Matt was interviewed by NME, with him telling the publication: "The first job I did was working at Caffe Nero," adding: "IIll be honest, I didn't work that much; I did odd jobs, I would get sacked so quickly." Matty went onto add that he also worked at clothing brand Fat Face "for a week" before he and his The 1975 bandmates all became delivery drivers for the same Chinese restaurant - The Flame and Wok.

But it was her son's stint at Caffe Nero that Loose Women star Denise homed in on when she reacted to Matty's NME interview on Twitter, telling her 538,000 followers: "What about getting sacked after a week for being the worst trainee barista Nero ever had ,then pretending to work there for another month!!!"

Responding to Denise's tweet, one fan quipped: "doesn’t matter if you’re famous matty cause your mum is still gonna try and embarrass you online," with another writing: "Love this...embarrassing mam alert."

As midweek chart reports showed that The 1975 were well on course to land another number one album with new release Being Funny In A Foreign Language, Denise then delved into the photo archives to find a snap of Matty from back in the day, waiting on tables at Caffe Nero. Posting it on Twitter, she wrote: "The very week!"
