Denise Van Outen admits she 'wouldn't change' her ex Eddie Boxshall cheating on her as it lead her to new romance.
Earlier this year, Denise and Eddie went through a very turbulent split after she found a series of X-rated messages he had sent to other women. After their split, the former love birds took a series of swings at one another on social media but Denise has fully moved on with her new love Jimmy Barba.
Speaking to The Sun, the Chicago star said: "Obviously those things weren’t nice to go through, but where I’m at now with Jimmy [Barba], who has such a good energy, everything was worth it. Honestly, I feel like I’m in a nice, happy, good place. I wouldn’t change anything."
The media personality added that as a result of her split she became a lot closer to her friends. She told the publication: I reconnected with a lot of close friends. They reached out to me, which is lovely.
"You get caught up in life when you’re in a relationship and especially when you’re blending families [Eddie has Jordan, 25, and Leah, 23, from a previous relationship, while Denise has 12-year-old Betsy with ex-husband Lee Mead] and you’ve got the kids to consider.
"So you don’t always make time for your friends. Everything that happened took all my friendships to another level.
"Fearne Cotton was constantly checking in with me. She’s such a good soul. I was a bit like: ‘I’ll deal with it on my own,’ because I don’t want to be a burden, but then it got to a point where I thought: ‘No, actually I do need to be a bit vulnerable.’
“I’ve got myself into therapy, too, which was really good. It’s made me realise I’m very much a people-pleaser. I don’t like confrontation or arguments, but that makes me vulnerable as a person. So now I’m learning to have boundaries.”
Eddie previously said he's "deeply sorry" for "breaking her trust". He denied physically cheating, but said: "I deeply regret that I sent those messages."
Discussing the relationship a source told OK! : "Denise is head over heels for Jimmy – he feels like a breath of fresh air and is a real man after all of Eddie's drama. He makes her laugh; they're having so much fun together after meeting online. It's not been long but she's smitten which is why she went on red carpet official with him."
They added: "He cracks her up and they are very happy together. It's obviously very early days but it's very clear that Jimmy is keen on Denise."
