Denise Van Outen 'struggled to breathe' she was so heartbroken over fiancé's cheating

Denise Van Outen says she 'struggled to breathe' amid her gut wrenching split from ex-fiance Eddie amid cheating rumours.

The Telly fave, 48, was forced to face up that her seven year relationship with partner Eddie Boxshall was over in January this year after months of speculation adding further strain for the star.

But after taking stock of her situation, she bravely bared all to Ferne Cottton about her break up saying: "It’s the worst. It’s horrible", on the Happy Place podcast.

She told good pal Ferne: "It doesn't matter who you are or where you are it hurts just as deep''.

And the presenter was inundated with responses from women and men who had experienced infidelity.

Sharing her toughest times on the show, she added: "Those nights of just sitting there on the patio 3/4 o clock in the morning feeling drained and empty and thinking I don’t know how I’m going to get through the next week because enough feel so broken, it’s horrible."

"It hurts. I couldn’t breathe, I phoned one of my friends one night and I felt like someone was sitting on my chest, literally could not breathe, you get that knot in your stomach, and it wont go, and you’re like when will this feeling leave me?"

But due to being in the public eye, she admitted she felt an overwhelming pressure to push forward despite 'feeling like you can't function' she says it's what people want to see.

And for the first time in her life she's seeking therapy after she was 'literally flawed' by her relationship ending.

Describing herself as a 'fixer' often at her own detriment, she acknowledges working from a young age has given her a drive but she instead of breaking down she often distracting herself by throwing herself into new skills.

Admitting to Ferne:"I'm good actually.. I'm not fully healed. I'm getting there.

"I'm enjoying therapy. I'm learning so much about myself. That I hadn't even looked at myself properly."

The Celebrity Gogglebox star touched upon her break up in her book, A Bit of Me: From Basildon To Broadway And Back, which she claims to have found Eddie's messages to multiple women.

Meanwhile Eddie, a commodities trader, kept quiet on the break up until last month speaking to The Sun he stated: "I broke her trust. I'm deeply sorry."
