Denise Richards has reunited with daughter Sami as they work on their 'difficult' relationship.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 51, has had a fractured bond with her eldest daughter, and their problems hit the headlines last year, when Sami went public with claims of abuse against her mother.
The teenager shared a video on TikTok in which she claimed she was “trapped in an abusive household”, and was “insanely depressed”.
Sami said she had moved out and was living with her father, Charlie Sheen.
“Had a spiritual awakening, own two cats, happy single, full of self love, and dropped out of high school,” she explained.
Denise hinted at a reconciliation two months ago, when the actress took to social media to share a sweet post celebrating her daughter’s 18th birthday.
“In a blink of an eye you’re 18 …. !!!! Happy Birthday my beautiful Sami. I love you so much. Privately many more words to share with you,” she began.
“I love you unconditionally and I am very blessed and grateful to be your mom. And Nana is looking down celebrating with you. I love you my sweet Sam. Happy 18th Birthday!” Denise added.
Sami then confirmed she and her mother had reconciled, as she uploaded a touching post honouring Denise.
“Happy mother’s day !! i love u so much mom. u have no idea how grateful i am to have u in my life,” she captioned a series of snaps showing the pair posing.
Denise then commented on the post, and revealed that they had enjoyed dinner together at one of their favourite restaurants.
“Thank you Sami for an amazing Mother’s Day. It means a lot to me. I know nana was at dinner with us she would never miss one of her favorite restaurants. Thank you & I love you so much,” she wrote.
Denise shares daughters Sami and Lola, 16, with ex-husband Charlie.
The couple wed in 2002, and divorced in 2005.
Denise went on to marry Aaron Phypers, and she adopted daughter Eloise, now 10, in 2011.
The actress hinted at a “strained” relationship with her eldest daughter earlier this year, and said it was “difficult raising teenagers, especially in Los Angeles”.
