Democrats Rally Behind Kamala Harris For Presidential Nomination

Following President Joe Biden's announcement that he will not seek reelection and has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, a wave of Democratic leaders have come forward to support Harris as the Democratic nominee for the upcoming presidential election.

Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock expressed his pride in working alongside Biden and Harris, endorsing Harris as the next President of the United States. California Rep. Mike Levin echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the need to move forward with Harris as the new leader.

Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono and New Jersey Rep. Andy Kim also endorsed Harris, with Hirono calling Harris a friend and colleague and expressing her commitment to supporting her candidacy. Kim highlighted the historic nature of Harris' candidacy and his faith in her ability to lead.

Delaware Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, a close ally of Biden, voiced her support for Harris, stating that there is no better person equipped to lead the country. Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell and California Rep. Salud Carbajal also endorsed Harris, praising her leadership and critical voice in the administration.

Washington Sen. Patty Murray commended Biden for passing the torch and endorsed Harris wholeheartedly, emphasizing her full support for Harris as the presidential nominee. Ohio Rep. Emilia Sykes expressed her anticipation in working with fellow Democrats to unify around Harris as the nominee.

California Sen. Alex Padilla, who succeeded Harris in the Senate, endorsed her candidacy, highlighting her courage and conviction in defending fundamental freedoms. Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin and California Rep. Jared Huffman also endorsed Harris, with Slotkin emphasizing the importance of her task in uniting the country and Huffman expressing excitement to campaign for Harris.

The endorsements reflect a growing momentum within the Democratic Party to rally behind Harris as the potential presidential nominee, with leaders from various states and backgrounds voicing their support for her candidacy.
