The public calls from Democrats urging President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race have subsided in recent days, but behind-the-scenes efforts persist to push the president and his top aides, according to sources within the Democratic party.

Notably, seasoned Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg has reportedly been sending memos to Biden's inner circle, expressing his belief that Biden is on a trajectory to lose the election in a manner that could have significant repercussions for other Democratic candidates.

Described as 'devastating' and 'lose everything' by sources familiar with the memos, Greenberg's analysis is said to be based on internal polling data indicating a continued decline in the president's standing following a widely criticized debate performance.

Greenberg, known for his work with Bill Clinton's successful presidential campaigns, has refrained from commenting on the matter when reached for a response.

Additionally, Democratic members of Congress have reportedly been privately lobbying top Biden advisers, warning about the potential consequences to Biden's legacy if he were to lose the presidency while Republicans secure control of both the House and Senate.

While some Biden aides acknowledge the severity of the situation, they remain optimistic about turning the tide and emphasize the president's unwavering determination to win the election.

Despite internal concerns, there is a reluctance among Democrats to publicly call for Biden to step aside at this juncture, as they prioritize presenting a united front in response to the ongoing Republican convention and respect Biden's stated commitment to continue his campaign.

However, it is suggested that this stance may shift depending on post-convention polling data indicating further deterioration in the president's electoral prospects.
