Democratic Rep. Slotkin Leads In Michigan Senate Race Poll

A recent poll conducted by EPIC-MRA indicates that Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin holds a 5% lead over former Rep. Mike Rogers in Michigan's 2024 U.S. Senate contest. The poll, which surveyed 600 randomly selected voters from around Michigan, shows Slotkin leading Rogers by a margin of 47% to 42%, with a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points.

According to the sources, 6% of respondents leaned towards supporting a third-party candidate, while 4% remained undecided, declined to answer, or indicated they would not vote in the contest.

Former President Donald Trump endorsed Rogers in March ahead of the August GOP primary for the Senate seat. However, Sen. Rand Paul criticized Rogers, calling him a 'never Trumper' and a member of the 'spy state.' Paul had previously backed former Rep. Justin Amash in the primary, but Rogers emerged as the winner.

Sen. Debbie Stabenow, a Democrat who has served in the Senate since 2001, announced last year that she would not seek another term. Michigan's other senator, Gary Peters, is also a Democrat. The state has not had a Republican U.S. senator since Spencer Abraham, who lost to Stabenow in 2000.
