On Wednesday, the third day of the Democratic National Convention, Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz and former President Bill Clinton will take the stage to support the party's new candidate, Kamala Harris. The event will also feature Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg as speakers.

The convention aims to showcase Harris as the natural heir of past Democratic leaders, with speeches from the grandsons of Jimmy Carter and John F. Kennedy emphasizing her connection to a broader historical arc. Jason Carter, grandson of the 39th president, stated, 'Kamala Harris carries my grandfather's legacy,' while Jack Schlossberg highlighted Harris's belief in America, akin to his grandfather's vision.

Furthermore, the Democrats are reaching out to disaffected Trump voters, with former White House staffer Stephanie Grisham criticizing the former president's lack of empathy, morals, and truthfulness. Grisham's testimony, along with that of Kyle Sweetser, a Trump voter from Alabama, underscores the party's attempt to appeal to those disillusioned with the Trump administration.

The convention's strategic messaging seeks to energize an aging electorate by evoking nostalgia and emphasizing Harris's groundbreaking candidacy as the first woman of color to be a major party's nominee. The event serves as a platform for Democratic leaders to rally support for Harris and present a united front against the current administration.
