Demi Moore reveals why she was 'overwhelmed' when she read the script for Ghost

Demi Moore was 'scared' when she first read the script for Ghost

Demi Moore was "scared" when she first read the script for 'Ghost'.

The 62-year-old actress cemented herself as a Hollywood star through role of Molly in the 1992 supernatural romance - in which her character has to deal with the murder of her partner - and was "overwhelmed" by what she would have to do to bring that across on screen.

Speaking on the YouTube series 'Hot Ones', she said: "I think that we have something that's an interesting kind of response in life, which is when we try to control our emotions we don't want to cry. We hold our breath. Just remembering to breath, I think, allows for a deeper emotional connection, which is a reaction to being able to open yourself.

"Definitely 'Ghost' scared the c*** out of me. Also, to be such a young person dealing with the loss of your partner, in reading the script I was so overwhelmed at the kind of grief that I was going to have to tap into. "

Demi acknowledged that her ability to cry from a single eye seems to have become a memorable moment from the film but insisted that she "didn't plan that" although in the end, it helped her "get over a hurdle" she had in terms of emotional performance on the big screen even though it still is "not easy" for her.

She added: "I know that there's this iconic thing about the one eye. I didn't plan that, I had no control over that. That's just how it happened. That one kind of help me get over a hurdle of my own. Not that it's done it always...there's still emotionally whenever we have to be vulnerable, it is not easy."
