Linebacker Demario Davis was among six non-participants on Tuesday’s New Orleans Saints injury report ahead of their Week 7 game with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night, which would be a big blow for the defense. Davis hasn’t practiced this week due to a knee injury; if he can’t go, expect Jaylon Smith to be called up from the practice squad to help reinforce the depth chart.
But the Saints were also down several starters along the offensive line including Ryan Ramczyk (concussion) and James Hurst (ankle), neither of whom practiced on Tuesday; Andrus Peat was a limited participant. It’s going to be difficult for so many injured players to heal up in time for an early-week kickoff, but we’ll look out for updated practice statuses on Wednesday.
