Demarai Gray reflects on Everton support and moment he knew he would 'hurt Arsenal'
Demarai Gray has praised Evertonians for flooding the streets in support of the team towards the end of the 2021/22 season.
The very real threat of relegation sparked something incredible from the fanbase and the club for the closing matches of the term. Supporters turned up in their thousands for coach welcomes, lined the roads outside Finch Farm with smoke bombs and flags for away matches and turned the entire feeling around the club into that of positivity behind the team.
That was undoubtedly a crucial factor in the Blues picking up the crucial points they did to eventually secure their Premier League survival with a 3-2 win over Crystal Palace in the penultimate game. And Gray remembers the support that he and his teammates received well, claiming that no other club would be able to generate that commitment.

Everton offers can end transfer speculation on three players after Anthony Gordon gesture
Everton's decision to give Anthony Gordon a new squad number wasn't only a reward for his efforts last season, it was surely a statement of their intention for the rest of the summer.
The winger has been linked with a couple of high-profile potential moves in recent weeks, with both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United credited with interest in the 21-year-old. Some reports have suggest quite lofty fees possibly being offered for the academy graduate in the near future, although the word from Goodison Park is that the Blues will rebuff any bids that might come in.
You'd expect that's what handing Gordon the No.10 shirt was slightly about. Of course it's a well-deserved reward for the progression that he has accomplished over the last few years, but maybe it was a veiled message at everyone whose eyes might be wandering over to his availability.
"Hands off. We've got plans for him next season."
