In a leaked two-page document, Delta Air Lines recruiting officials told candidates they should wear "proper undergarments" as well as how to adjust their appearances in their interviews.
The document titled "appearance requirements acknowledgment" gave specific details on how they should look when interviewing in person, saying that "proper undergarments must be worn but must not be visible."
The document also reminded candidates to refrain from using profanity and to leave the chewing gum behind as it would not be allowed during assessments.
"The customer service experience begins the moment a Flight Attendant puts on their uniform," the letter stated. "The Delta uniform represents always putting safety first, pride in the Delta culture and demonstrates a genuine graciousness that will be remembered by our customers."
Aside from discussing underwear, Delta touched on proper hygiene, clean fingernails, and "professional" attire. Skirts that are too short would not be allowed.
The letter also touched on hair, saying that it should be a "natural-looking hue."
This is the first time in over a year that Delta has opened up flight attendant recruitment, which likely caused an influx of applicants and interest.
