Deloris MeBain, who was WMAQ-TV’s station relations chief, has died at 74; memorial Saturday

Services are planned Saturday for Deloris MeBain, an executive at WMAQ-TV who helped many interns break into broadcasting, created goodwill in communities throughout the city and handled station crises with the skill of a diplomat.

Mrs. MeBain, 74, former director of station relations at what’s now known as NBC 5, died Jan. 23 at a hospital in Tennessee, where she had been living. She had Alzheimer’s disease and COVID-19, according to her sister Annette Brown.
