Delivery brand rolls back price of Dairy Milk to what it was in the 90s - and it’s not Uber or Deliveroo

The cost of living crisis is the Covid of 2022 - we’re all fed up of hearing about it but even more fed up of living through it. Fuel prices are up, energy costs are soaring and the price of a McDonald’s cheeseburger has gone up for the first time in 14 years.

But one grocery delivery service is rolling back the prices on several of their most popular items, reducing the cost to what they were in the 1990s.

This year has seen the highest inflation rates in 27 years, but Getir are determined to help customers save a bit of cash while times are tough,

Throwing it back to 90s, shoppers can bag a Cadbury Dairy Milk bar for 45p instead of 85p, or pick up Cadbury Bournville Cocoa for £1.25, saving 45 per cent. Customers will also be able to get a pack of spaghetti for £1.09 rather than £2, Heinz Salad Cream for £1.29, down from £2.30 a 800g white medium Kingsmill loaf for just 65p - saving of 50 per cent.

Fairy washing up liquid will also be 65p, saving 45p, while Cirio chopped tomatoes will be down from £1 to 55p. Colgate cavity protection toothpaste will be rolled back to 55p, with Evian water costing 65p instead of £1.20 and Branston Pickle less than £1 at 95p.

All of these will be available to deliver in minutes across Manchester, as well as London, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool, Southampton, Portsmouth, Leeds, Cambridge, and Leicester.

The price promotion is running throughout the whole of August on their app . The discounts are available on certain products, with more staples being added every week.

Shoppers can simply add the featured products to their basket to take advantage of the deal. They will be limited to buying a maximum of two of each single product, in order to make sure there’s enough to go around, and there is no additional basket spend necessary to make use of the deal.
