Delight of girl guide, six, whose Disney costume design has been created by Paul Shriek

A six-year-old girl guide is thrilled that a sparkly costume she drew for a Disney competition won top spot and has been created by award-winning designer Paul Shriek for her to wear to the upcoming Disney on Ice show in Newcastle.

Brianna Barrass who is in the 2nd Killingworth Rainbows and Brownies, the youngest branch of Girl Guiding, took part with her pals in a competition to design a Disney outfit and her idea, inspired by Anna in Frozen - who has ginger hair 'just like me!' she says - won first prize. And now her picture has been brought to life by top local fashion and costume designer Shriek.

What's more, she will have her chance to wear her stunning dress when she and 30 fellow Girl Guide members attend the opening night of the Disney On Ice spectacular Dream Big at the Utilita Arena in December. The show had joined forces with Girlguiding in North Tyneside and Newcastle on the creative competition which was open to Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers in the area.
