Deliberate fire at Paisley building site during early hours sparks witness appeal

Detectives in Renfrewshire are appealing for witnesses following a deliberate fire at a building site in Paisley.

Around 2.30am on Sunday (April 10) police and emergency services were called to a fire at the site in Blackstoun Road, Ferguslie Park.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue attended and extinguished the fire, which is being treated as wilful.

There was no one within the building site, however, there has been damage caused.

Detective Constable Martyn Renfrew, of Paisley CID, said: "Our enquiries into the incident are ongoing and anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area in the early hours of Sunday, 10 April, is urged to get in touch.

"If you were driving and have dash-cam that could assist with our enquiries, then I would also urge you to contact us.
