NEW DELHI: The Rajendra Nagar assembly constituency will fall vacant with sitting MLA Raghav Chadha being named as one of the five candidates to be sent to Rajya Sabha by Aam Aadmi Party.
Sources said Chadha’s resignation is likely to come before April 9 when he takes oath in Rajya Sabha, the voting for which will take place on March 31. While there is still no clarity about the municipal polls, which are due in April-May, the election commission will have to hold the bypoll to the Rajendra Nagar assembly in the next six months.
