New Delhi: Delhi woke up to a slightly warmer morning on Saturday, with the minimum temperature rising marginally even as the city witnessed light rain in the early hours of the day, officials said.
According to India Meteorological department (IMD) data, scattered rain was recorded across parts of the city during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
Safdarjung recorded 1 mm of rain between 2.30 am and 5.30 am on Saturday. Palam recorded 0.4 mm of rain at the same time; Lodhi Road recorded 1.9 mm of rain between 11.30 pm on Friday and 2.30 am on Saturday; Njafgarh recorded 0.5 mm of rain in the early hours of Saturday, between 5.30 am and 8.30 am.
Safdarjung, the city's base weather station, recorded a minimum temperature of 27.7 degrees Celsius, 0.4 degree above normal and 0.4 degree higher than Friday.
Among other stations, Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 25.2 degrees Celsius, 0.2 degree higher than the previous day. Lodhi Road recorded 27 degrees Celsius, up 0.2 degree from Friday, while Ayanagar recorded 24.2 degrees Celsius, marking a 1.1-degree rise.
The IMD has forecast very light to light rain to continue on Saturday.
"There is a possibility of very light rain to light rain at isolated places accompanied with surface winds of 20-30 kmph, gusting up to 40 kmph, during the morning or forenoon hours on Saturday. Another spell of very light to light rain at many places during the afternoon to night is likely," an IMD official said.
Similar weather conditions are expected to persist on Sunday, the official added.
The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for Tuesday and Wednesday, warning of rain.

The maximum temperature is likely to settle between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius, according to the weather office.
Meanwhile, Delhi's air quality remained in the 'satisfactory' category. The Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 68 at 9 am on Saturday, compared to the 24-hour average AQI of 70 recorded at 4 pm on Friday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
According to CPCB standards, an AQI of 0-50 is considered 'good', 51-100 'satisfactory', 101-200 'moderate', 201-300 'poor', 301-400 'very poor', and 401-500 'severe'.
