NEW DELHI: Delhi’s Arjun, a class XI student at the Modern Public School, will be part of the Indian contingent for the Asian Youth Athletics Championship, to be held in Kuwait from October 13-16. Arjun won the gold medal in the javelin throw competition at the National Youth Athletics Championship, held in Bhopal, to qualify for the Asian meet.
Bringing more glory to the school, Arjun has created a record with a throw of 72.92m while the qualifying score for the Asian meet is 69.36m. The 15-year-old is currently ranked No. 1 in India, third in Asia and 10th in the world in the under-18 boys javelin throw category.
