Delhi: Only regret is Army truck did not stop, says cyclist’s dad

NEW DELHI: Kunwar Arora who died in a cycling accident on Sardar Patel Marg on Thursday morning was a passionate cyclist. At 26 years, the youngest of three siblings, he cycled on the same route every day. Usually accompanied by at least two other riders, Kunwar would wake up every morning around 5am and cycle for 30-40km. On Thursday he was alone and lay on the road without help after being hit by an army vehicle.

“My only regret is that the army truck involved in the accident did not stop and rush my son to the hospital even though the base hospital is close by,” said Vijay Arora, the cyclist’s father. “As an individual and as a family, we respect and salute the Army for what they do for our country. Had it been any other vehicle, I wouldn’t have said this, but since it was an Army vehicle, this was the least that we expected.”
